LOCATION and CLIMATE
| Located 15 kms north of Ernakulam city and 15 kms south of Nedumbassery International
Air port, on about 180 acres in Thrikkakara, the
main campus is serene and beautiful. Rolling hills with patches of thick green and planted
trees, plenty of fresh air and sunshine lift the spirits of students, staff and faculty.
The main administrative block is built in traditional Kerala style with tiled roofs and is
very functional. This main campus houses 14 teaching and research departments,
8 auxiliary institutions, 5 hostels, guest house, visiting faculty complex, computer
centre, administrative office, central library, staff quarters, post office, bank, health
centre, telecom centre, play grounds and courts and a gymnasium. Another campus of
university is located in Ernakulam, by the side of the sea, and houses the School of
Marine Sciences, the School of Environmental Studies and the Department of Industrial and
men's hostel. Proximity to the sea and infrastructural facilities like a jetty, several
sea-going vessels provide an environment and facilities essential for marine and related
science studies.
Climate is humid with rainy season between June and October. Cottonware is preferred throughout the year. The temperature rises to 35 Degrees in summers and dips to 25 degrees in winter. |
