In addition to the above experience, I have special interest in designing and constructing electronic circuits for many applications and some of my works in this connection are published in National and International Journals.

I am also interested in servicing and maintaining small instruments to sophisticated systems.

My research work is mainly for the development of a fully automated non-destructive testing system for non-metallic materials using microwaves.  For this at first phase I have developed automatically scans the tyre and if a defect/flaw is detected, the system generates audio/visual indication and allows the user to mark the defects.  I have published this work in an International Journal.

As a second stage, an IBM PC based scanning and imaging system has developed.  For this I have designed a PC add-on multi-channel data acquisition card with digital I/O for the control of the above setup.  Appropriate software is also developed.  The defect/flaw monitoring includes various types of displays using graphic characters on VDU/printer and a three-dimensional plot of the scanned area.  This is very helpful in analyzing the entire tyre.

As a third stage a turntable and a high resolution scanning system using high resolution scanning system using stepper motors and mechanical arm like structure have been developed.  Using this data, it is possible to get high resolution images of tyre.

This work has got the RUBPLAS 91 EXCELLENCE AWARD FOR PROCESS INNOVATION in 1991.
